About the role

We're looking for an accountant who can own payroll and accounting for our Mexican entity, end to end.

Fronted is a global Employer of Record (EOR) and Contractor of Record (COR) platform. We help companies hire and pay people in more than 40 countries, and we also handle recruitment, entity setup and payroll. We're a small team of about 30, which means the work you do here is visible and it matters.

In Mexico, you'll be the person who makes sure every employee we employ on behalf of our clients is paid correctly and on time, and that our company stays fully compliant with SAT, IMSS and the outsourcing rules that shape how EOR works in Mexico. You won't be one step in a long chain. You'll see the whole picture and help us improve it.

What you'll do
Your responsibilities will span across crucial areas, ensuring accuracy and compliance in every task:
Payroll
  • Run Mexican payroll from start to finish, including aguinaldo, vacation premium (prima vacacional) and profit sharing (PTU).

  • Handle joiners and leavers: onboarding into payroll, IMSS registrations and terminations, and final settlements (finiquito and liquidación).

  • Calculate and file payroll taxes and contributions: ISR withholding, IMSS, INFONAVIT and state payroll tax (ISN).

  • Answer payroll questions from employees and clients clearly and in good time.

  • Accounting and close
  • Keep the books up to date day to day.

  • Run the month-end and year-end close.

  • Prepare and file the financial statements.

  • Support external audits and be the go-to person for auditors.

  • Company tax and reporting
  • File corporate income tax (ISR), both monthly provisional payments and the annual return.

  • File VAT (IVA) and the DIOT.

  • Submit electronic accounting (contabilidad electrónica) to the SAT.

  • Prepare the related-party return and keep our foreign investment registry (RNIE) filings current.

  • Compliance and improvement
  • Keep our Mexican setup aligned with the 2021 outsourcing reform and REPSE requirements, which are central to how we operate as an EOR.

  • Flag legal and regulatory changes early and help us adapt.

  • Help us build better processes, templates and documentation as we grow.

  • What you bring
    • Degree in accounting (Contador Público)
    • 4-5 years of hands-on experience
    • Proven ability to run Mexican payroll A-Z
    • Solid experience with day-to-day accounting and month/year-end close
    • Experience filing all relevant payroll and company taxes
    • Understanding of 2021 outsourcing law and REPSE for EOR
    Bonus points if you have
    • Payroll or accounting experience in other LATAM, North America or Europe
    • Experience in the EOR or staffing sector
    • Ability to overlap a few hours a day with European working hours (CET)

    A proactive team player

    Who you are

Beyond technical skills, we value attitude. We're looking for someone motivated and energetic, happy to engage in projects beyond their core job description and genuinely eager to learn new things.

You'll work closely with our team in Europe and with clients who rely on us to manage their people in Mexico. If you thrive on ownership, clear communication, and being part of a team that delivers, we encourage you to apply.
