What you absolutely need
5+ years building and scaling production systems
Daily proficiency with AI coding tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot)
Proficiency with React/Next.js, TypeScript (Frontend)
Proficiency with Node.js or Python with FastAPI, REST/GraphQL (Backend)
Demonstrated ability to integrate AI capabilities (streaming LLMs, function calling, agent UX patterns)
Hands-on experience with AWS services (API Gateway, Lambda, SQS, ECS), Docker, Terraform, and GitHub for IaC/CI/CD
Experience with PostgreSQL and DynamoDB

About the Role and Aiba
Aiba is an AI product company based in Gjøvik & Oslo, dedicated to building tools that make online communities and digital communication safer and more trustworthy. Our core product, the Amanda Moderation Platform, uses a combination of in-house and open-source AI models running on AWS to help companies protect their online communities, games, and digital products. We are a small, fast-moving team that believes the best AI products are built by individuals who understand both the models and the systems around them, and who are passionate about solving genuine, real-life problems. As a Senior Full-Stack / Backend Engineer, you'll be instrumental in developing the products our AI powers, ensuring our solutions are robust, scalable, and user-friendly.

Your Responsibilities
In this role, you will be at the forefront of integrating AI capabilities into user-facing products.
Ship Web Apps & APIs
Build and deploy web applications and APIs that effectively surface AI capabilities to users.
Integrate Agent Backends
Wire up sophisticated agent backends to polished, responsive frontends, ensuring seamless functionality.
Craft Exceptional UX
Develop great user experiences for streaming responses, tool calls, and agentic flows.
Leverage AI Coding Tools
Utilize AI coding tools like Claude Code, Cursor, and Copilot as a standard, integral part of your daily toolkit.
Ensure Full-Stack Reliability
Take ownership of the reliability and performance of the entire full stack, from front-end to back-end.
Collaborate with AI Engineers
Work closely with AI engineers to transform complex model outputs into impactful product features.

Who We're Looking For
We are seeking a senior engineer with a strong technical background and a passion for innovation.
Full-Stack Expertise
5+ years building and scaling production systems using React/Next.js (TypeScript) and Node.js or Python with FastAPI, REST/GraphQL.
AI Integration Prowess
Demonstrated ability to integrate AI capabilities like streaming LLMs, function calling, and agent UX patterns into user-facing products.
Cloud & Infra Proficiency
Hands-on experience with AWS (API Gateway, Lambda, SQS, ECS), Docker, Terraform, and GitHub for IaC/CI/CD.
Database Knowledge
Experience with PostgreSQL and DynamoDB, with bonus knowledge of Vector DBs or Graph DBs.
Architectural Thinking
Ability to make sound architectural decisions, own reliability and performance end-to-end, and balance strategic design with hands-on coding.
Innovative Mindset
